چکیده

To extend the upper limiting frequency and attenuation zone of active noise and vibration control systems, multiple channel control systems are commonly used. This brings a huge amount of computational load and often multiprocessor DSP systems have to be used. In this paper, several multiprocessor system architectures are considered for the most commonly used active control algorithm, and three multiprocessor communication schemes are discussed. An example of a 16 channel active control system built with 8 ADSP21161 SHARC DSP processors is given in the paper, where the multiprocessor system architecture, the multiprocessor bus arbitration and the link port communication issues related to the active control are considered.

Voltage Assignment with Guaranteed Probability Satisfying Timing Constraint for Real-time Multiproceesor DSP

Dynamic Voltage Scaling (DVS) is one of the techniques used to obtain energy-saving in real-time DSP systems. In many DSP systems, some tasks contain conditional instructions that have different execution times for different inputs. Due to the uncertainties in execution time of these tasks, this paper models each varied execution time as a probabilistic random variable and solves the Voltage As...

Resynchronization for Multiprocessor DSP Systems

This paper introduces a technique, called resynchronization, for reducing synchronization overhead in multiprocessor implementations of digital signal processing (DSP) systems. The technique applies to arbitrary collections of dedicated, programmable or configurable processors, such as combinations of programmable DSP’s, ASICS, and FPGA subsystems. Thus, it is particularly well-suited to the ev...

An Efficient RMS Admission Control and its Application to Multiprocessor Scheduling - Parallel Processing Symposium, 1998, and Symposium on Parallel and Distributed Processing 1998. 19

A real-time system must execute functionally correct computations in a timely mannel: In order to guarantee that all tasks accepted in the system will meet their timing requirements, an admission control algorithm must be used to only accept tasks whose requirements can be satisfied. Rate-monotonic scheduling (RMS) is arguably the best known scheduling policy for periodic real-time tasks on uni...

Intermediate Representations for Design Automation of Multiprocessor DSP Systems

Self-timed scheduling is an attractive implementation style for multiprocessor DSP systems due to its ability to exploit predictability in application behavior, its avoidance of over-constrained synchronization, and its simplified clocking requirements. However, analysis and optimization of selftimed systems under real-time constraints is challenging due to the complex, irregular dynamics of se...

A two-level scheduling method: an effective parallelizing technique for uniform nested loops on a DSP multiprocessor

A digital signal processor (DSP), which is a special-purpose microprocessor, is designed to achieve higher performance on DSP applications. Because most DSP applications contain many nested loops and permit a very high degree of parallelism, the DSP multiprocessor has a suitable architecture to execute these applications. Unfortunately, conventional scheduling methods used on DSP multiprocessor...
